Illinois Emergency Homeowners Assistance Fund Info Session - English

The Illinois Emergency Homeowner Assistance Fund (ILHAF) program is now accepting applications for assistance!

The Illinois Emergency Homeowner Assistance Fund (ILHAF) provides up to $60,000 in mortgage assistance to eligible homeowners — paid directly to the servicer, taxing body, or other approved entity.

Homeowners are strongly encouraged to attend a webinar hosted by IHDA in advance of the application portal opening. These sessions will provide a roadmap for you to follow to make the application process more efficient. Topics will include:

  • Description of loss mitigation
  • Mortgage basics
  • The foreclosure process
  • The ILHAF application process and program eligibility
  • Other free resources available to you, including housing counseling and legal aid
