Waubonsee Community College

Art Workshop by Alberto Aguilar

Artist Alberto Aguilar will be offering a workshop that focuses on drawing (symbols and icons), meaning (cultural significance, our tendencies of association, and subtleties of meaning), and critical thinking about ideas and our propensity to create. The workshop will run from 12:30 to 3 p.m. in Von Ohlen Hall, room 201.

His art exhibition was previously on view in the Dickson Window Art Project Space. Alberto Aguilar’s artistic practice uses various strategies that include assemblage where he re-arranges objects found in his surroundings, or interventions where he makes a gesture or takes an action. His approach often uses humor as he plays with the blurring of the separation between art and everyday life.
